Balanze, Claremont WA

Tell us about Balanze, when did it begin?

I worked in London as an investment banker and dreamed of leaving my 90 hour work week and opening a Pilates studio. Twelve years later (including six years of Pilates and yoga training) and Balanze was born.

Tell us about your team...How many instructors do you have?

We have a wonderful team of nine Pilates and yoga instructors who are all very passionate about teaching and helping clients realise their full potential.

What are the biggest challenges and rewards in running your own business?

Being a small business owner means being the daily problem solver and making sure problems are fixed. The biggest reward is seeing our clients happy after class and hearing how the studio and our community has positively impacted their lives.

How is your studio different to other Studios in your area?

Our community is our number one focus and as a studio instructor and owner, I'm also committed to supporting the career progression of our team. When your team is happy, they deliver exceptional instruction and innovative classes and in return our clients help us shape the studio and grow our community. We designed the studio so there are two rooms for clients to practice (which delivers more variety and choice of class times) and our Connect Space offers our clients a place to chill after class and chat with each other. We also offer specialty classes (e.g. Mums and Bubs reformer) and workshops to promote our community's wellbeing and support likeminded businesses.

Do you have any special deals for new members?

Yes new members can start with our intro offer of 7 classes in 14 days for $69. We encourage clients to explore all our class types to find the mix they love.

Which class is the most popular?

Our Sweat Reformer classes are the most popular as they'll tone your body, get the heart rate up and challenge your balance.

What's your favourite class that you offer and why?

I don't have a favourite...they're like my children... love them all equally. This is why I highly recommend you try them all!

Do you have one on one classes as well as group classes?

Yes, we offer private Pilates and yoga classes. I'm Diploma Pilates qualified so we offer Pilates matwork, reformer, chair, Power Tower (like the cadillac or trapeze table) and the Pilates arc. This is a great option if you're new to Pilates or yoga or if you'd like to delive deeper into your practice.

Tell us about these Hens parties you hold..

We're delighted to offer bespoke hens parties which are the perfect healthy alternative for the modern bride. The bride and her hens can enjoy Pilates or Yoga classes tailored to their theme, followed by delicious food and time to mingle in our beautiful space. This is a great way to balance our the stress that normally accompanies wedding preparations and bring everyone closer together. We're located in Claremont, with close proximity to Cottesloe and Nedlands should they wish to continue the party afterwards.

What does the next 5 years look like for your studio?

We're really excited to grow our community, our team of instructors and work closely with like minded businesses.
